This website is mostly devoted to my work writing books for children and teens. It includes a bit about me, my books and stories, and tips on writing for children. (The navigation tabs are at the top of the page.)
But I wear many hats, and I am interested in many things. It's one of the reasons I love writing - I can follow my curiousity and write about the world and people around me, or I can let my imagination run wild and write about adventures I hope to have. If you want to know more about some of the other things I do, check out the "More About Janice" tab at the top of the page.

the family. Once the silence is broken, fear, beliefs about family, and
misconceptions about abusers and their victims cause many
well-intentioned laws and social programs to fail to protect victims of

Diabetes is an ancient and deadly disease. People with diabetes have trouble processing the food they eat because their body's system of checks and balances doesn't work. Although no cure exists, much can be done with careful management of food, exercise and medicine. New technologies are helping to make managing diabetes ever easier.
